PUSTOTA | INTRODUCTION | GETTING STARTED

Connect To The Pustota Network

Pustota Offers Mainnet, Devnet, And Testnet Networks For Users. You Can Use Either The Devnet Or Testnet To Experiment With The Versions Of Pustota Running On Those Networks. Additionally, You Can Spin Up A Local Pustota Network For Development Purposes.

The Pustota Testnet And Devnet Consist Of Multiple Validator Nodes That Validate Transactions Across Each Network. Clients Can Send Transactions And Read Requests Through The Following Endpoint:

You Can Request Test PUSTOTA Tokens Through The Pustota Devnet-Faucet And Testnet-Faucet Discord Channels, Depending On Which Version Of The Network You Are Using. If You Are Connected To Localnet, Utilize CURL To Request Tokens From Your Local Faucet. Please Note That The Coins On These Networks Hold No Financial Value, And There Is No Faucet Service Available For Mainnet.

Data persistence on the Pustota Testnet and Devnet is not guaranteed. The Devnet data is regularly wiped as part of scheduled software updates. While Testnet data typically persists through regular updates, it may be wiped if necessary. Any Testnet data wipes will be announced in advance to keep users informed.

Environment Setup

First, Install Pustota. After The Installation, Request PUSTOTA Test Tokens Through Discord For The Network You Are Using, Devnet Or Testnet. If You Are Connected To Localnet, Use CURL To Request Tokens From Your Local Faucet.

To Check If Pustota Is Already Installed, Run The Following Command:

which pustota

If Pustota is installed, the command will return the path to the Pustota binary.

it is not installed, it will return "pustota not found."

Visit the Pustota Releases page to view the changes in each Pustota release.

Configure Pustota Client

If you previously ran pustota genesis to create a local network, it would have generated a Pustota client configuration file (client.yaml) that connects to localhost at http://0.0.0.0:9000. Refer to Connect to a custom RPC endpoint to update the client.yaml file.

To connect the Pustota client to a network, run the following command:

pustota client

If you see the Pustota client help output in the console, it means you already have a client.yaml file. For instructions on adding a new environment alias or switching the currently active network, see Connect to a custom RPC endpoint.
